Kaloote is the shaman of the village of people on this small island in the Caribbean Sea, about 40 to 50 miles from the mainland of Central America. The time of this event is 1400 B.C.
   
Kaloote is the only member of the village who has the courage to walk out to the “giant firestick” (shuttle rocket) after it has landed, and to greet the “foreigners from the sky” as they climb down the ladder to the island.
   
He feels a responsibility to the people of his village to face these “tall, pasty-skinned foreigners.”  The rest of the villagers, including their leader, Chitam, are hiding in the trees behind him.
   
Actually, these “foreigners” are aliens from nearly 50 light years distance away in the Milky Way Galaxy.
