John Bacon grew up on Lake Champlain in the Adirondacks of northern New York. At age seventeen he began to dream of becoming a writer. However, John knew he had to find a way to make a secure living and raise a family. He began his college education at the University of New York in Albany and finished at Adrian College in southern Michigan. After graduate school at Wayne State University, John taught English in Farmington Hills, Michigan for 33 years.

 

When he retired, he finally started his writing career. He has three children and six grandchildren, as well as a calico cat named Lucy. John now resides in Florida.
